Frida baby wind passers - what's your thoughts?
My almost 6 week old has been on infacol since week 2, it had been really helping but for the last 3 days she's been super fussy and writhing around grunting, straining and trying to push gas out. She went from being able to do at least 3 hours of sleep overnight to about 20 minutes before gas pains woke her up. She even went from feeding (breastfeeding) peacefully to starting to grunt, tense and cry during feeding. In my pits of despair I ordered the frida windi, I've just used it and I have mixed feelings and I'm feeling like a terrible mum.
I inserted the first one and baby was fussy anyway, she was getting hungry but I wanted to try and relieve her before feeding her, no air came out but loads of poo did, she cried a little bit but I cleaned her up and then felt her belly it still felt really tight so I used a 2nd one because no gas came out the first one. She absolutely wailed when I inserted it like I'd caused her so much pain, a tiny bit of air came out but I removed it so fast because it broke my heart and I started to instantly regret using it like I'd caused her pain.
I will say when I fed her after she was so so so calm, no writhing, she did a little toot on her own, and she seems content now but I'm still feeling guilty. There was no resistance when I used the windi otherwise I would have stopped as I've never used a rectal thermometer and I was already feeling nervous.
What's everyone's thoughts on the windi? Has anyone had similar experiences? Everything I've read says their babies were unbothered by the insertion which makes me feel so much worse about it.
Our baby is fine with them. Did you use coconut oil or anything on the tube before you used it? X
