Baby Sign Language

Husband and I want to reach our LO basic signs that we can use to communicate with her, as she tries to learn words. She is not yet 4 months, but would like to find a book or something to help. And teaches accurate signs. Any recommendations? And when would you think is a good sign to start introducing these signs.

Can Google kids sign language book 📖 it’s never too early to teach your child signs/ a different language. The earlier the better because of how a child’s mind is like a sponge and can retain information so well 🧠🗣️ they are literally learning language from you as you communicate with them throughout the day. So try as much as you can to involve your child in conversations using whatever languages you want them to learn

I got the kit from here for my son a few years ago. My baby loves to watch and is starting to try and sign. https://babysignlanguage.com/

It is never too early to start. My 14 week old already knows and responds to the signs for milk and diaper. As far as using accurate signs...unless you or the baby will be communicating with someone who uses ASL regularly, I think you can use whatever works for you. We looked up signs online and went with what we found there.

We just got this for our LO. He turns 4 months on Monday and we are just starting to teach him the sign for milk now Baby Sign Language Made Easy: 101 Signs to Start Communicating with Your Child Now (Baby Sign Language Guides) https://a.co/d/0b2atSBX

I bought this for my baby and it’s easy for me to understand and be able to teach him. https://amzn.to/3LiKfBb It’s also a book to read to baby as well

You basically just start using the signs every time you say the word and they pick up on it the same way as language. There are probably 100s of books but I found youtube videos to be much more helpful as it's not always easy to understand from a photo. The big ones at this age would be things like more, milk, bottle, mama, dada, diaper, etc.

YouTube University! Lol Our 17 mo has been signing since around 6mo and I learned all the signing from YouTube! It makes all the difference!

@Carina I forget to do it all the time and now she is 5 months old.
