Is anyone super anxious the closer the due date gets? The more they worry they’re going to be late or end up with a more complicated birth I can’t stop worrying. I think it’s because I have several friends or family members messaging me randomly telling me I’m going to go over and she’s going to be late but it doesn’t help me at all. I feel I haven’t done enough to deliver on time which I know sounds silly but I’m just so anxious to go over full term and feel like I’ve done something wrong?

I'm now 4 days overdue and got so restless. I'm trying to keep reminding myself is an arbitrary date and she's not late. Babies come at different times and due dates are estimates. Getting lots of messages from friends and fam asking if I have any movements or signs which adds to the anticipation. But I'm trying to take these as they are thinking of me. It's so hard to not stress, I'm with you but trying to let all the hype go.

I think over stressing could possibly make for a more difficult birth… it can have negative effects on your body. You need to do everything you can to relax and be calm. Mute your messages if you have to. Nothing bad is going to happen if you’re ‘overdue’.

The due date is never exact. There's always 2weeks before or after. Let go of what's out of your control and think of your baby being developed in the safest zone! Doesn't it make you happy that there's a huge development going on inside of you and that's the only place that this development can happen best and when it's done you'll begin a new stage with a new human being that is part of you? It's amazing to think about it! The baby knows exactly what he/she is doing and will choose the right time for the big arrival day. In the meantime just think of how beautiful this is and you've came so far together and you both got this!
Offer the best and a peaceful environment and sleeeeeep as much as you can while you can mama! You got this!😄😍

The due date is only a very rough estimate. It’s like asking a tree to ripen all its apples on the same day or any other mammal to birth on a fixed day - the majority of the time that won’t happen.

This is one of the reasons, I have told people I will block their numbers if they message me on my due date (or near it) without hearing from me. I do not need the extra anxiety, when I am dealing with the pain and fatigue of being heavily pregnant already.
