So my step daughter just finished preschool and her mom and her step dad moved shortly after, I don't want to be overreacting but she been potty trained for 3 years now, and she is having accidents, and last night according to her mom she decided to pee in a bucket and poop in one of those play kitchen sinks. As embarrassing as it is to admit it's what happened. Her father and I got married back in August and her mom and her step-dad got married in September this last year. It could be a regression from everything but I can't help but think in the back of my mind something else deeper is going on. Any advice?

Well, I don’t have direct experience with this EXACT scenario, but I do know from both reading and personal experience with my son, that any changes during big milestone moments in a kid’s life can (and often does) result in some level of regression. Regardless, consistency is key, and is most successful with positive reinforcement and emotional love and support.
She’ll be okay! I promise! Just continue loving on her and reassuring her how much everyone loves her! ❤️
@Shannah and she did just have her second baby sister be born this last month from her father and I. Which is why I'm thinking its regression over everything else. Definitely will continue to do what we've been doing

I wouldn't worry if it only happened once, and it's not embarrassing at all. Sometimes kids just get ideas and don't have the self restraint not to act on it yet, or she might have gotten taken up with a particular idea in a moment. It sounds like your sd has had a lot of changes going on recently. Provide consistency and communicate schedule changes in advance when you can, and support her through the rest. Let the anxious thoughts go. 🙂👋
