Any advise on how to limit a 7 week old from wiggling to the bottom of the bassinet at night? I know it is normal to wiggle while sleeping but No matter if he's fully swaddled or in a sleep sack with his arms out, he usually finds his way down to the bottom of the bassinet where he can't move as freely. I usually wake up to his frustrated grunts so I move him back up. If I don't move him, he's guaranteed to wake up but if I do it's 50/50 he’ll stay asleep. I can't help but wonder if moving him to his crib (in a different room) would be better so he can have more space.

Is he put into the bassinet foot to foot?

Please don’t move him to another room hun. It’s not recommended until at least 6 months. It must be really difficult if he’s waking himself up, but I’d suggest doing what you have been and shuffling him back up a little if he’s uncomfortable. 🥰

Babies should be placed with their feet at the bottom of the bassinet so they don’t wriggle their way down underneath their covers x

They are meant to be at the bottom for safety reasons not the top. Put his feet at the bottle. Not in own room until 6 months

phew I was told by my sister and midwife that this is what you do so I was confused to be honest because the baby should be put at the bottom of the bassinet. Thank you!

Honestly, if it’s interrupting his sleep I would put him in his crib. It sounds like he’s ready for a bigger space. Can you put the crib in your room? If not, I would see how he does in his crib in a different room and follow safe sleep requirements.
Or if you have a pack n play that you can set in your room? That would allow for more “wiggle” room!

Could you try him in a sleep sack rather than swaddle? That way his arms are free and he can still wiggle his legs. It might be that he's trying to wriggle out of the swaddle. The few times I tried my little one in a swaddle he'd inevitably wriggle his arms free at some point, or I'd just free him if he was trying.

Have you heard of the swaddelini? I’m going to try using one for my baby, they’re meant to be brilliant
