I checked in to see how much it would cost us with the free 15 hours and for 3 days it will be just under £600 a month. I don't understand how because a full day is just under £70 so where as the extra fees come from?
What are you guys possibly going to be paying?

Ours will be about £690 for 4 days a week with the 15 hours. That’s with a childminder though

£400 for 2.5 days a week.
It's around £70 a day and on the "funded days" we have to pay £22 for consumables. So 1.5 days will be "funded" and cost us £33 on top of £70 for the other day.

I guess it also depends how they allow you to use the 15 hours. Ours has to be in blocks of 5 or 10 hours. Anything outside of "core hours" (8-6) is charged at their usual rate of £11 an hour 🙄 He does get all meals and snacks on his funded days but that's about it really. Consumables apparently covers craft materials, wear and tear etc. The amount they are asking is ludicrous and they are clearly trying to make up the gap between what the government gives them per hour (£6?) and what it costs to pay staff an hour.

The nursery should give you a breakdown of how they work it out. ‘Free 15 hours’ unfortunately isn’t the case.
Sometimes they only offer free hours in the morning, so if they’re in for a full day you’ll have to pay the hourly rate for the afternoon. Sometimes you don’t even end up using the full 15 hours due to the way they work it out. Sometimes if they’re doing just half a day, you can’t use any free hours for this so have to pay. It all depends on how they do it. Have they explained it to you?
We booked out 3 days a week 8-6. Ours is only £57 a day though. We have to pay £15 a week for ‘consumables’, and then the rest of the hours come to about 370. So it’s just over £400 in total for us c

15 hours will 2 and half days funded then anything after that will have to be paid

Once the hours are stretched and consumables etc are paid, at our nursery, we get the equivalent of just 7 free hours! A far cry from the 15 that's branded everywhere! It's 7 more than 0 though and next September, it'll be double when it becomes 30 free hours!

They could also be using stretched funding which would be 11 throughout the week rather than the 15, this is so u get free funding throughout the half terms - u could also be paying a fee which they charge for snacks, hot dinners etc. have they broken down ur bill

Ours full price (before tax reduction and free hours) is over £900 for three days...haven't worked out the actual cost yet
