My baby is 4.5 months and we were out today and she got sunburn on her left arm and it’s just that arm, no where else she had a sun hat on and was in and out of pushchair as she gets bored if in for too long. It’s not nice, photo for reference. I was going to put sudocrem on it and just keep an eye, should I take any further action? Should I be worried?

Did she have sun cream on? You have to build up there exposure to the sun to avoid this. Sun cream can sometimes make them burn a lot more, but there is some really good chemical free sun cream x

If your breast feed use your milk and also breast milk baths. I wouldn’t put anything on it except those x

Please don't put sudocrem on the sunburn! It killed me when I put it on my feet when I had sunburn. Have u got any aloe Vera? You may be able to use that

I second aloe Vera! My baby girl got her cheeks & arms sunburnt when she was nearly 6 months old. Looked similar to your picture. Aloe Vera moisturiser sorted it out within a few days 👍

aloe vera!

Aloe Vera all the way ! It's cooling which will help so much. The fresher the better

sun cream cannot make you burn more?!

it absolutely can! Some sun creams are awful!

literally how, how would it make you burn more, please explain how that works

I cent even be arsed to explain, it’s not hard to understand that some sun cream brands are rubbish lol, same as food, same as make up, same as clothes?!

when you use make up and a particular brand reacts with your skin, don’t you then go and try another brand? Works quite similar to sun cream and food, and clothes and nappies and so onnnnn

having a reaction is not the same as sun cream making you burn more. If the sun cream has SPF, it can't be worse than having no sun cream on at all. It's literally not possible. Yes some are rubbish, don't last as long, don't have a high rating, but if they contain SPF they will be blocking some UV rays so will be better than no sun cream

id get you all the evidence and studies up but I know id be wasting my time. We’ll agree to disagree 🙂

if the sun cream doesn’t work as good then your gonna burn more? Which is basically the same as saying certain sun creams make you burn more by not protecting you as well?

The majority of all these branded suncreams contain aliminum which thins the skin and makes you burn more
Organic and aluminium free sun creams all the way over here but the studies are out there if you look. Good luck :)

no please I would love to see the evidence, if you've got something that says applying spf will cause you to burn more than if you didn't apply any SPF I'd love to see it.
