Potty training and nursery

I started potty training my 33 month old this week. We had three days at home, regularly putting him on the potty and being bare from the waist down. Over those days he did a couple of tiny wees (drips) in the potty but mainly had accidents. He will now happily wear pants and sit on the potty more which is all progress. Yesterday he managed to do a big wee in the potty and he was SO proud of himself ❤ However he has to go to nursery so is having days away from me and home very early on. I sent him in with lots of changes of clothes and at handover this evening they said he had struggled. He sat on the potty but no wees in there. I got the impression they feel he isn't ready even though they had mentioned starting training at a meeting. He was ok in himself but did get upset towards the end of the day. I just feel a bit disheartened and obviously I don't want him upset. I've asked them not to force it and follow his lead. He has managed to stay dry on two car journeys today and when I put him on the potty when we got home this evening he did another big wee (he was super proud again) 🥰 I know that it is very very early days still but I don't want him to struggle and not enjoy being at nursery. At the end of the day he did say he just wanted to play. Any thoughts or advice? My first time navigating this xx

Our lo struggled more with nursery too. We had 3 days at home too before going back to nursery. Think I've had 7 outfits to wash on the worst day 😬 but she was doing wees on the potty on the afternoon of the first day. Not sure which method you are doing, we're doing oh crap and they said not to use underwear until after 4-5 weeks as it feels like nappies to them which can confuse them. I'd try to give it another big push on the next weekend and see how it goes then. We've been potty training almost 7 weeks now and she basically doesn't have accidents at home or if out with us. Still a few at nursery, don't think she's had a day with none there yet but only 1 on Friday.

How many hours/ days is your toddler at nursery for? Do they have to go? I'm assuming you work and that's why they are in nursery can you book some holidays so that you have a solid couple of weeks to help LO get to grips with it?

I'm a teacher and am now on school holidays so yes this could be an option. Thank you. He goes for two days a week. Yesterday he got very distressed about it at nursery so they put him back in a pull up. Obviously I don't want him distressed as that could lead to him really not wanting to use the potty
