Vaginal delivery postpartum basket

Okay so my SIL is getting induced in 9 days! She’s planning on a vaginal delivery. What are some postpartum things that you bought yourself or wished you would have bought or gotten? (I had a C-section and have a few things for her in case she has to go that route.)

Incognito because I don’t want her seeing and not everyone knows yet.

If you're giving it to her beforehand, I'd get her a water bottle or stanley dupe so she can keep hydrated during labour.
I'd maybe get her some snacks she really likes as a treat for after, maybe a gift card for a food delivery service that she can use when she gets home and neither her or her partner have the energy to sort food

The hospital will give her a peri bottle but the ones where the nozzle is j shaped is so much better imo. Tucks medicated cooling pads, an herbal blend for a bath. I know they say don’t bathe but unless she’s having a C-section I promise an herbal bath will help heal quicker. The Frida ice pads are cool but use sparingly they tend to stick to you. Button down gowns/pjs. Especially if she plans to breastfeed. Perineal spray/foam. Overnight pads/disposable underwear. Dermoplast. Ibuprofen or preferred pain med.

Whitchhazel spray foam can be found in the maternity section and some decent thick pads :)

Are you uk or us?
If you’re in the UK she won’t get anything from the hospital. Definitely peri bottle and big loose undies🤣 I personally found this much more comfortable than the disposable pants.

oh that’s interesting. I never thought about the fact it would be different between the UK and US. I went to one of the top Labor & Delivery units in the entire US, and they provided literally anything as long as I asked. Even the hospital food was pretty good.

sounds lovely 😂 you are expected to bring everything in here in the UK. Obviously you’d get ‘puppy pads’ if you didn’t have anything/ you get meals and drinks etc but they don’t provide personal items xx

The midwife running our antenatal class said adult nappies are the absolute best thing to wear after (but not black as need to be able to monitor blood loss). I’ve also bought the frida mom kit for when I give birth.

Snacks! I was starving after delivery and ate everything in my reach 😂

Honestly id wish id just bought adult pampers

Gatorade. Best for rehydration after birth. Nurses and Dr's said I was super smart for packing some in my hospital bag.

I’m 29 weeks pregnant and having really aching legs and they’re all lumpy and swollen. Above the knee and behind the knee . Should I be worried ? My legs have never looked like this up until a few days ago. ??

Would you bring 9 week old to a family party of 35+ people?

These are also people who will want to pass the baby around and get a turn to hold him. He just got his 2 month shots two days ago

Gave birth (vagina) 5 days ago and yesterday morning and this morning getting lot of pain in my right bottom side and lower back

What movement did people start to introduce? I won’t do anything too vigorous until I’ve seen the pelvic physio as I don’t want to compromise anything that may have been extremely weakened through pregnancy! But just wondering what types of classes/movement people started off with?
