My little girl is 6 weeks old today and staying awake for much longer during the day.
I was just wondering, what’s everyone doing to keep their bubbas entertained during their wake windows? I want to encourage play but I have no clue what to do 😂 thanks in advance 🫶🏽

I put mine down in her play gym. I play with her a little and do a bit of tummy time then leave her to look at her reflection in the little mirror and play with the sensory toys. I've got the baby Einstein one from johnlewis with the piano and attached the Lovevery toys to it

Nothing, my baby just stares around the room 😁 I use her awake time while she is not crying to do stuff around the house 😁

I’ve bought one of those kick piano playmats!

I'll put mine in her play gym, swing or in the other kids bedroom with sensory lighting/toys. She'll only really tolerate being left to it for about 10/15 minutes and definitely prefers being interacted with verbally. I tend to read books or sing songs to her which she finds very amusing. I mostly just tell her how pretty she is though and chat away about my day as I continuously move her from room to room whilst I get things done and she can still see and hear me. She also has 3 other siblings that always want to play and interact with her too so she does get quite tired quickly. X

I use her play mat, which I've now also attached her black and white bumper too as well. I use her sensory box which is in black white and red so she can see them. Noises like rattling she enjoys too.

thank you x

Heres some ideas

same! 😅 with 2 other kids, there’s always something that needs doing. I usually take her along with me and just talk to her x

ahh I should get her a play gym. My other 2 simply hatedddd being out of my arms in general 😂 so I just expected it to be the same this time round. But she is more than happy to sit, chill and stare around the room while I talk to her lol. My 3yo daughter loves playing with her so will defo encourage more of that. Thank you hun x

definitely going to get her a play gym. Thank you x

I highly recommend the black and white sensory play box too

do you have her in a sling when you take her to room to room? Mine doesn’t seem to like being in the sling unfortunately

My LO hates being put down so i mostly sit him on my lap while he looks around. We babble at each other, i sing to him (badly) and take him to different parts of the house to look at windows/lights which are his favourite

@Mel I'll put her in the sling if I have loads to do and she won't settle for a nap or wants me to hold her, because she loves it! But if I take her from room to room with me she'll sit in her snuggle pod and watch me.

Baby sensory toys you can get a bag on Amazon with all bits in that’s really good, also put him on his play mat or in swing chair with baby sensory on you tube , but he only tolerate
Them for 5 10 mins max and just likes to be held looking at me 😅

I bought a play matt but she doesn't seem too interested in it yet tbh. I am going to get few sensory toys this week from Amazon
