I feel like it's different when they're older. She's about to turn 15. I love her a lot but bonding is a question mark because she's very independent and hardly ever around. Also I'm 2 weeks postpartum and trying my best.

I have a 17 SD, teen years can be rough sometimes. Let her know you're there for her if she ever needs you. I do movie/ game nights with my SD to bond. She also enjoys picking outfits for her 8-month-old sister.

Let her be independent! Focus on your baby and give her lots of time to hang out with her dad when she's over. Get her expensive gifts for holidays and make the occasional comment about how she is so smart and independent. Ask questions about her life and just listen. That's all you need to do.
