Brits: Baby Sensory Class

We do a sensory class every Tuesday, it's 50 minutes long. So, to start, we all go in and get situated on our mat, there is a box of sensory items on each mat which we will be shown how to use during the class. Class starts with a song called "say hello to the sun" and the we will have 30 minutes of songs, sign language and usage of rattles, drums, lights, different textures etc and the a 10 minute break where you can use various sensory sections set up around the room and lots of photo opportunities, there are also baby scales to use. My baby ALWAYS needs feeding in that 10 minutes though.

The remaining 10/20 minutes is usually some sort of ball/parachute/bubble thing in the centre of the room with everyone in a circle taking part.

My little girl is 14 weeks and we have gone since she was 7 weeks and she loves it.

Wow! Is that free to everyone? What's the minimum age?

A baby massage!? That all sounds so cool! Another thing we Americans are robbed of! This sounds so beneficial to baby and mom!

@Kim oh absolutely not free! We pay £56 per term which is 7 weeks. They don't do them during school holidays. And the one I go to is from birth to 13 months. I started at 7 weeks because that's when the new term started.

not free at all, mine is £59 per term for 7 weeks and they do summer sessions etc in school holidays, depends on the class some are cheaper, my lo started 8 weeks old think it’s up to about 2 years you just move up classes x

we LOVED baby sensory when we went. Signing “say hello to the sun” was my favourite bit.

@Jayde Do most people go, would you say? I can't believe we barely anything for that young. There are Music Together classes here that start at birth, but that's all I know of. Even swim class starts at 6 mos.

I actually don't know if most people go, I think like 50% if I'm being generous because it's so expensive to do these types of things.

Swim classes here start from a few weeks old.
