My LB has got really sleepy today and now has a fever, 38°c. He’ll be 4 months at the end of the month, and the rest of the house has had a cold recently. He’s meant to have his jabs tomorrow but I’m not sure whether to or not. Everything online is contradictory so not sure what to do.
He’s also getting a little bit sniffly, but he often does randomly. But he is very very cuddly too. Given him calpol which has now lowered his temp to 37.3°c. But it also looks as if he’s got a tooth coming so could also be teething?
But any advice?

If your little one is sick then your pediatrician will not give vaccines until he is better 🤍

thank you! I keep reading some things which say they will still do the vaccine and others say they won’t. I can’t cancel it as it’s a Sunday, so going to use the appointment to check him over while there

I don’t know a pediatrician who would, that’s crazy! Even as an adult providers don’t want you to be sick when you come in for vaccines! But definitely good idea to get baby checked out 🤍🤍

finally managed to find it on the nhs website and it says no vaccine when they have a high temperature! Definitely going to get him checked though, just got to make it through the probably sleepless night now😅

I’d ring the gp in the morning and ask what they recommend… I work in a gp and we would go ahead if ill, however we wouldn’t if a temp has been within the last 24/48 hours especially for the 16 week jabs which I’m guessing this is? As this lot has got men B in so they normally like to know if its the men B that’s causing a temp etc x

amazing thanks for the reply! I’ll definitely phone them in the morning and yes it’s the 16 week jabs. Just keeping up with the calpol until then. It got it down for about 30 mins but has gone back up to 38°c now

We had a similar situation. They will check the temperature before doing the vaccine. We were told we won’t be seen by a paediatrician unless we have an appointment. But the nurse doing the vaccines will check the temperature. Just say you are worried about baby being sick.

thank you! They’ve not checked his temp before his other vaccines but I’ll definitely talk to them about it. Going to phone when open as well!
