Swimming nappies

Hi everyoneđź‘‹

I want to take my 5 month old swimming but the swimming double nappy rules are confusing me.
Do you need to buy two lots of nappies- the size that fits her now and then the next size up so it fits over that nappy?

Thanks for your help!

The double nappy rule means you need reusable swim nappy over the top of a disposable one.

Have a look at splash about and there happy nappy range.

No it means a normal nappy & a swim nappy

Thank you all so much ❤️❤️

It means a normal swim nappy and then a reusable one, we use splash about range.. and recently just bought a swimsuit so now I just use the normal swim nappy with that over the top x

Loads of happy nappies on vinted.

Avatar

it does not mean this. The reason for swim nappies is that they don’t absorb water. A proper nappy would absorb all the pool water and weigh baby down

Sorry I should have been more descriptive
I'm back to confused
I'm in about swimming nappies.
So my LO would have a normal sized daily disposable nappy on and the next size up swimming nappy?
Or she has a swimming nappy then the next size up swimming nappy on top of that?

Avatar

No, your child needs a disposable swim nappy on and then on top of that a reusable happy nappy

Avatar

Not next size up. The correct size for their age.

Brill.thank you

Also make sure that you check the sizes on the disposable swim nappies as they’re not the same as normal ones

You can also get reusable inner nappy. I saw some in tesco today or mio bambino do them. Put a happy nappy on the top.

Hi all
I've bought 6-12 mnth splash about nappy and cannot get them on her
She's 5 1/2 month and a perfect weight -no over weight
Any advice?

Just spoke with the lady who sold them to me, they are a double layer so I don't need reusable nappy underneath 🤦‍♀️

Avatar

Which one does she say is double ?

Avatar

The one in the photo, happy nappy

Avatar

That’s happy nappy isn’t a double layer, put the disposable on then pull the happy nappy up as high as you can on her thighs and then pull the rest up. They’re supposed to be quite tight

Avatar

Not sure if you can see the two photos I have posted but I physically cannot get the happy nappy on top of either a reusable or a disposable nappy.

Avatar

Yes I can see the pictures, I’m just trying to help. I know from experience with my daughter that they are tight. I get my daughters on my pulling the leg ones up first and then pulling it over her bum when it’s already up on her thighs.

Avatar

I've never struggled that much to get them on. You might need to size up.

Avatar

Thanks girls
Just spoke with a few of the pools near the 3 areas we stay at the most. They are all happy with solely the happy nappy so I don't need to worry about the sizings of the happy nappy
Thanks!

That's good. If you plan on doing swimming lessons in the future they will likely say you need the double layer.
