My three week old keeps screaming and grunting in pain after feeds (exclusively breastfed). He also spits up about 5-6 times after a feed and only then is he relaxed. This feed-burp-spit up ordeal takes about an hour and a half to settle down, just in time for his next feed. Unsure what is going wrong?! Has anyone experienced this or reached out to a health care professional who has provided advice

Have you tried infacol? I know it can be distressing when this happens. I'm not 100% sure what's happening but if it's anything like colic, that should really help

Following - I’m having same issue! Although infacol has helped a bit so might be worth you trying that too if you haven’t?? X

Have a look at reflux in babies and see if the symptoms match. My BF baby also has this I’ve had to cap her feed lengths to try reduce the sickness and pace her. It deffo works but it’s hard and she begs for more food sometimes but if she has too much then it’s just as bad!
@Star I haven't yet but I will, thank you for suggesting it
@Jessica gosh it's so hard isn't it? Sending love, hopefully we are able to find something that works for our little ones
how long do you cap them at? Has it impacted weight gain at all?

Has your bubs pooped normally since this started? I’ve found mine has slowed down with dirty nappies x
@Jessica not that I've noticed. I've heard breastfed babies may not poop every day. The discomfort only started a few days ago so I'll keep an eye out. Have you contacted the health visitor?

We feed in 3 minute intervals to start with, let that digest and keep upright then I see if she can handle another 2 mins. Her weight is okay and gaining fine but I would say more so as it reduced the sick but I should say she was throwing up full feeds each feed. I have an over supply with a fast let down and it was choking her.

Had exactly the same issues, infacol before every feed works really well, HV said to use that should take a few days to see real effects but it was immediate for us, she also told us breastfed babies should have 6-8 poop nappies a day as breastfeeding is a bit of laxative so if your baby isn’t pooping everyday speak to your HV xx
