Trying to figure out what to došŸ¤”

Any single moms here??

My bd moved away when I was 3 months pregnant. Our daughter is 2, and he’s only seen her 2 times (1 week each time). He’s in Ct, and I’m in NC. He’s asking to come get her and bring her to his state without me. He isn’t on the birth certificate. I told him it'd be best if he came here to see her. Last month he told me. He can’t come out here because he works, and he just called me today saying he’s taking a week off for his birthday could he come get her for 5 days (he wouldn’t even take off for her birthday). I’m all for my daughter having her dad in her life, but I worry he might not give her back.

I would not allow this. Could you go with her?

I wouldn’t allow this ā˜¹ļø way too many horror stories of people not getting their kids back.

I told him back in May I would fly out with her and he was okay with it, and then he called me at the end of June told me he doesn’t want me to be around. His words ā€œ I should be able to get her without you aroundā€

Single mom from NC here! I definitely am going through similar situations. I’d say do what makes YOU comfortable. Especially being that he’s not even on the BC. That gives you the power to do what’s best for you and your daughter. Maybe wait until she talks more and is able to communicate more. That usually makes me feel better. Also before you got pregnant how long have you known him? That can decipher how comfortable you feel allowing to take your daughter to another state.

second baby being able to communicate before being left alone with people who you don't necessarily know or trust

Quite frankly, him being able to hop in and out for his convenience is not in her best interest. That's an absolutely wild take and he clearly doesn't understand parenting. I'm sorry this is on your plate.

He was in Nc for 2 months and then left for 6 months and came back and told me he was staying here for good. From March up until October we were together, but once we got our own place I noticed his anger issues and it scared me off. Found out I was pregnant in early august. But I definitely ignored red flags (we were 18) he was a complete different person in his home state ( where he was comfortable). He doesn’t have a stable place, either on his grandma couch or at a girlfriend’s place

I've not had this kind of experience but I would NOT let him take her. You've stated that he's only seen her twice within 2 years...how would he know how to care for her properly? He wouldn't know what she likes to eat, or how to bathe her. I think this would be very awkward, even for him.
