When did you start to feel baby regularly if you have an anterior placenta please?
I’m 24+5 and it still feels quite irregular, trying not to get too worried about it 😕

I have an anterior placenta and never felt a pattern it’s annoying!… I’m 38+3!

Oh that makes me feel a lot more relieved but yeah I can imagine very annoying.
Have you coped ok with not being able to use that as an indicator of baby health? It’s starting to make me panic every now and then.

I have an anterior placenta, I’m 32 weeks and i think I’ve started feeling a pattern but whenever I get worried I’ll eat something and just lay on my side for a bit. At 24+5 weeks, baby hasn’t formed a pattern yet so don’t worry. They start forming patterns around 27-28 weeks x

Thank you that really does help.
The same here, on my side is the only time I can feel anything so I have been trying to make some time for it each morning. Guess that’s why I’ve started to worry when It doesn’t work and I don’t feel anything.

yeah with anterior placenta’s, laying on your side is kind of the only way to feel them, especially at the weeks you’re at. It’s completely normal and don’t worry about it being irregular! If you’re really worried you can always get checked but I’m very confident in saying that what you’re feeling is completely normal 😊

Thank you so much!! Going to get something to eat and see if that helps as well. I have a midwife appointment Monday as well which is making me feel better x

I rang my hospital last night for reduced movements at 25+2. They are being so inactive compared to other days I have felt but was told it’s normal and not too worry about movement patterns too much until 28 weeks. I had posterior with my first and felt her strongly and it makes me so nervous having anterior!!

Anterior placenta (right side). I’m 24+3 with twins. I’ve been able to feel regular movements from about 21 weeks but they are a lot more subtle on the side my placenta is on. Makes it hard to monitor twin 2s movements. I have to take daily blood thinner injections so I put frozen veg on my tummy for 10mins before hand. That certainly gets a reaction from the babies 😂 . Although it’s normal to feel reduced movements with anterior placenta just remember if in doubt check it out.

I'm 24+5 too, I started feeling movement around 22/23 weeks. Since hitting 24 I've been feeling her every day, but not always around the same time. So struggling to find a pattern. Apart from evenings. I also have an anterior placenta.

I only 23 but have anterior too. And when I went in cause I was worried about reduced movement the MW told me not to worry about a pattern until as late as 28 weeks.

But I would always say get checked if you’re concerned 🩷

I saw a post on Sept 2024 babies the other day with them saying they felt no pattern at like 34 weeks and a ton of people replied saying they didn’t either and actually a ‘pattern’ isn’t really a thing. 🤷🏻♀️ as long as u feel them every day by that point

I have anterior placenta and am 24+1 and I feel him every day but sometimes it’s only a couple times, especially if I’m busy

Around 20 weeks 😊 mostly after meal times and late at night unfortunately for me ask hes got quite the kick on him and it keeps me awake 😅 xx

I’m 25+5 and I can really feel her now with an anterior but I wouldn’t say there’s a pattern. Just when I sit/lay down to chill xx

yeah having something to compare it to must be really worrying! This is my first so I don’t have that only what I read online and that panics me enough! Thank you

wow frozen veg is a clever idea! I may try that thank you haha!

Yeah it’s only just starting to become daily but it isn’t quite there yet 😕

did you feel baby every day at that stage?

thanks Katie. I’m not quite getting movement everyday which I guess is also a little worrying but maybe I just haven’t concentrated on it enough. Will start to keep check every day thank you

no it was like maybe every couple of days I’d have like somersault feeling in my belly. Then it would stop. Now is the same. I’ll maybe have day where it’s happening loads then eases off. Not sure if you have the What to Expect book but there was a section in there on baby movement and how it can vary and be quite inconsistent. It gave me some peace of mind and I re-read it whenever I start feeling a bit anxious.

From 20 weeks at least once a day, but can go hours with no movement felt still. Eating, drinking usually result in movement!

When I went for a scan after going to triage the sonographer was saying that they sometimes suggest ice cold water in a hot water bottle and lying on your side on top of it as that sometimes makes the baby move x

Errrm about 21-22 weeks? I remember at 20 weeks I'd felt bits but not lost. I'm 27 and if I'm really thinking about it I can feel tiny tiny bits behind placenta but it's SO gentle. It's almost non existent. I feel sides if I lie down and top by my ribs now! It's only recently that I'm feeling stuff if I'm doing other stuff if that makes sense. Easy to miss when you're busy early on.

This is my second pregnancy with an anterior placenta and both times I've felt movements from 20 weeks but they are gentle and irregular. It took a long time with my first to feel strong kicks. Baby always kicks when I have a bath or if I'm hungry 🤣

anterior placenta with first baby, been able to feel baby move from 15 weeks but so faintly and then been able to see and feel them from the outside from 20 weeks, now 22 weeks and really starting to notice their pattern x
