Hi all! I need some advice or reassurance or something. I’m currently 7 months pregnant with our second baby and in the past month my firstborn daughter has been soooooo clingy. She’s always been a mommy’s girl and has always been breastfed to sleep and refused my partner to put her to bed etc.
But in the last month it’s been on another level, she is hysterical at nursery drop off and wants to spend every single second with me. She now wants to breastfeed over night and in the morning after just being breastfed to sleep for a few minutes each night for months. Putting her to bed takes 1-2 hours as she gets hysterical when I leave her side and if my partner takes over she cries and screams for me so much she can’t breathe…
Has anyone else had this ? I’m literally about to break as I get zero time to myself and will soon have a little newborn to take care of as well.. I just don’t know what to do!

Oh lovely I could have written this myself. My boy is 22 months old and also breastfed and for the past two months he has been using me like an all you can eat buffet. He goes to nursery two days a week and I stay at home with him the rest of the day. He wants to be permanently attached to me and it’s definitely really tough. Nothing I can really say to help but I feel you! X

We have also just gone through this. My boy just turned 2 4 days before his brother was born. For the 2 months before he was very very clingy, only wanted me overnight (not bf) awful nursery drop offs and tantrums gallore. I was dreading having a newborn to deal with as well. But from the moment we came home from the hospital things changed straight away!! He is now no longer clingy at all and has just been enjoying being a big bro. So hang in there it hopefully will be the same for you!
