On Thursday the courts ordered that my 10 year daughter (her bio mom passed away, me and another lady (Stacy) ended up fighting for guardianship and I won but we go back in a month to determine if she has rights for visitation) is to have no contact with Stacy until our next court date. Due to emotional and mental abuse through cellphone messages. My daughter has had her phone taken away since Monday when I discovered the abuse. I have told my daughter that there is to be no contact but she's doesn't seem to grasp the severity. I'm kinda at a loss cause I want to give the phone back so she has it but I know the moment I give it back she's gunna get pissed that I wiped Stacy's contact stuff out of the phone. Plus I'm worried I didn't get all the ways to communicate out.
Stacy has also been contacting me and being a twit and saying hateful things.

If the court ordered that Stacy should have no contact, I’d do my best to stick to that. Maybe sit down with your daughter & have another talk about it, allow her to ask you any questions she wants clarity on. Although I know some things kids just won’t understand. The fact that Stacy is contacting you with harassment should be 1 reason the court doesn’t grant visitation

It is so hard the difficulty is if you aren't supporting your daughter not to contact Stacey you could get into trouble for breaching the order. Maybe do some life story work with your daughter to explain the reasons why. I know it might be a bit extreme but if Stacey keeps contacting her could you have an adjudication order but in place.

I'm about to tell my attorney that if Stacy doesn't stop trying to contact my daughter and if she's doesn't stop harassing me that I will turn in all the evidence.

@Tylee the question is why wouldn't you turn all the evidence in for the safety of your child. I'm in a similar situation have full custody of my husbands children as he's passed and their bio mum was abusive one is now an adult and they other serve learning difficulties although is an adult so I ended up having to take out a injuction against his bio mum. Fight for what is right hun it's hard but your doing amazkng. Always a message away x

@Fliss - Zaza at this moment it's really fresh and I want to give her time to come to her senses before I completely "rip" my daughter away from a mother figure she has known for years. I've been told that's way to generous for what I've had to deal with and I'm aware. I'm only give a week grace period for her actions.

Make sure you report all the abuse and harassment, especially given its court ordered she have no contact and its breaching the rules set by law. Talk to your kid and explain the situation to her that its by law and abuse is never acceptable to or from anyone. Also maybe ask the court for some counselling for her as well. If the contact to either you or your kid persists, talk to your lawyer immediately and get a restraining order put in place as well.

I wouldn't give a greace period. The other person is an adult and has been court order and still emotionally abusing a young girl who lost her mother and going threw a difficult transition in life.
I would def seek a therpist for your daughter to help her threw these emotions and changes. (I would mention to therapist about the mental and emotional abuse your daughter has gone threw and even after a court order the abuser still came after her to where you needed to step in.)
But also I would turn the evidents over. This lady is an adult and knows what she is doing.

@Tylee I totally understand how hard it is but as the mother and parental figure you have to safe guard if you don't provide the evidence now and lean on it later it will be questioned if you have the child's best interests at heart.
Please don't give a grace period you and the other women are adults if she can't see the damage she's causing then it is your job to protector the child . It may upset the child at first but your job is to put the child's needs first not be their friend .
Sorry if this sounds harsh but after dealing with the court system at least in the UK please be completely transparent with them at all times xx
