First time mum, wanting to start introducing solids what's the best way to go about it? Or is it early? Baby boy is EBF at the moment.

All depends on readiness if I’m honest, I’d speak to your health visitor! I got approval of weaning early and he’s been such a foodie

Wait til 6 months. No need to do before

I started with purées just first tastes at 4 months and the more lumpier purées at 6 months then slowly introduced pieces of toast etc, you do you! If you think your baby is ready then start weaning! Xx

It’s recommended to wait until 6 months as research has shown their digestive systems are not ready before.
Trust me there’s no rush, eating solids is 10000 times messier and harder than EBF so just wait 😂

You do not have to wait till 6 months ! As long as baby can hold his head up and can sit with assistance and seems interested in food you can go ahead and introduce purées ! You can start with like a baby oatmeal cereal and then slowly start trying new foods !
I purée my own baby food right now it’s so easy just put it in the blender with a little bit of water / or breast milk !
My baby is almost 4.5 months and so far we have tried pure carrots , and bananas we just started introducing doors last week ! It’s best to stick with fruits and veggies at first !

Thankyou everyone! how often in a day are you doing the puree?

It’s recommended to start at 6 months however you do what is right for you and your baby, with my first we started weaning at 4.5 months as he was super hungry and with my 2nd I plan to start weaning at 5 months. If baby is starting to show an interest in food there is no harm in trying some purée’s and if it doesn’t work revisit when they are a little older. Do what is best for you and your baby.
