I really love the Joie Parcel Stroller but looking at its folded dimensions, it won’t fit in British Airways cabin.
Has anyone been able to take it on the airplane ??

You don’t need to take a stroller in the cabin, most airlines will let you take one or two baby items for free and you can use your stroller until you reach the gate, then they take it to put in the hold

I wanted to avoid putting the pram in hold, as they always throw them around and damage them. I’d prefer to buy a stroller which I can bring into cabin with me x

fair enough, but if it’s really important to you I’d play it safe and pick one that is within the specified dimensions. And be aware that even then, they can and do insist that you check it in if it’s a busy flight and space is limited in the overhead lockers.

They do insist. But if it's within your hand luggage allowance you can refuse their request and there is little they can do really. Checking it in is a different degree of pain in different airports. Arriving at Heathrow when the flight is late with your child in your hands without your stroller and facing hours-long queue is not fun. Definitely worth the stroller you can take onboard.

we took a carrier for the time we didn’t have the stroller, it came in very handy! But it depends on the age and weight of the child I guess

I carried my daughter up until she was 14kg and it was very helpful to have a carrier with me, in case she does not want to stay in the stroller. Then I put all my belongings in the stroller and carry her around. When travelling with child I prefer as many options as I can have to be prepared for things that can go wrong. Especially when travelling alone. After midnight arrival to Heathrow, 6 hour delayed departure in Majorca, flight cancelled after we boarded the plan in Geneva and a lost car seat feel like our 300gbp silver cross jet was worth every penny:-)

how do you mean, if it’s within your hand luggage allowance you can refuse? Even if it’s too big for dimensions

It has to be within dimensions, if it's bigger they will force you to check it in. If it's within dimensions they still sometimes try to say it's company policy to check all buggies in, I just don't let them and make sure I have either paid for an extra carry -on, or have one carry -on less than included in my ticket by default
