Positive pregnancy test 7 weeks after miscarriage

I'm after a bit of advice im not sure if this is the right group to help but I had my second miscarriage in June and opted to have d&c this was just over weeks ago I bled for 3 weeks after. My period hasn't returned yet so did a pregnancy test on Wednesday and I said pregnant 1-2 weeks we've only done the deed once during this time so I called the EPU and had bloods done and they called me back to say the results were 12 🤷‍♀️ I don't really understand what this means she just said to re test next week it's probably a chemical pregnancy because my hgc is too low. I've not had any bleeding or cause for concern. Can anyone help shed some light on this for me it would be much appreciated x
