Carrier would be easier because then you can keep him close to you without having extra things to hold. If you take a stroller, just fold it when you see the bus coming so you don’t look a hot mess trying to get on the bus lol. I hate to see a mom struggling with her baby on public transportation!

You’re lucky you have an eight month old I would say take a carrier as well. I hate getting on the bus with my three month old because people always look at me crazy or they try and see as if you’re taking up space they have buses now the new blue ones that have space for strollers, but people always sit in the seats where strollers are supposed to go and you’re supposed to vacate that seat upon request, but people don’t get up until the bus driver says something

You don’t need to fold your stroller at all. It’s no longer required. I’ve taken the MTA bus with a double stroller and had no issues and never had to close it. You just have to stay at the front since that’s where there’s the most space. Sometimes people will get up and give you a seat other times you might have to stand with the stroller.

I found this on Google. I know they're missing some busses in Brooklyn. Like the B57 and the B61 (that's my usual bus route) but it lists a lot in different boroughs

I used a carrier when my son was a baby it was way easier. It also helped that my baby bag was a backpack style.

Carrier if you can manage or a stroller you can easily close. Apparently you don’t have to close them anymore or don’t have to close them on certain bus lines but the space on the bus is tight. Also maybe do a few trial runs if you can so you’re not stressed. I’ve done a hip seat and a stroller before so I can hold my little one while boarding. Also a backpack diaper bag is helpful

I think it’s easier to fold it because it’s honestly annoying af getting on a bus with a stroller in the way. Even as a mom, I get it but no

I take the stroller on the bus. I don’t fold it up but there are times that the bus is really full and if you have two moms with strollers and a ride on wheelchair it gets very tight and people will give you quite annoyed looks so sometimes you may have to let a bus go by and get on the next one.

If it’s busy hour & you can take a carrier, would definitely recommend to do that but if it’s not busy hours, take your stroller because most of the time you will have space in the bus since it’s not busy. & the driver usually lowers the bus a bit so you can get on with the stroller
