Early labour

I’m in the latent phase of labour but nothing is progressing at all!! 🙃 have been in excruciating pain that I’ve had to be given oramorph by the hospital.

Any tips to get things moving along?!
They won’t break my waters at the moment as baby is monitoring well and still classed pre term… so ideally want to delay but I’m just really uncomfortable and want it all to hurry up now 😩

Get walking! Supposed to help in the early stages

I wish it did because that’s all I’ve been doing! Xx

Curb walking, going up and down stairs sideways, birth ball and lunges. Also anything that makes you feel happy! Watching comedy, dancing, hugging… get the oxytocin flowing!

Also rest as much as you can bc you’ll need the energy later. Good luck. 🤞

thanks lovely 🥰 the birth ball is a deffo life saver at the moment!! Next attempt is a hot curry although not sure if that’s just a big myth 🤣

Honestly, try and sleep! Latent stage of my first labour was soo long. Midwife told me to go to bed which I was really against as I thought it’d slow things down. Was woken 5 hours later at 2am with much stronger surges and my daughter was born 9 hours later at 11!
