Bleeding post birth

Hi all, I've been bleeding for 9+ weeks now and whilst it has got better, it's definitely still going! I'm taking the pill but that hasn't seemed to touch it - not sure it would anyway. Has anyone got any similar experiences? Would like to know I'm not alone. Thanks x

It may not be the case for you but I had on going bleeding (heavy) and passing clots after 5 weeks Pp. Many health professionals kept telling me it’s normal. After pushing for tests and ultrasounds turns out I had a lot of retained placenta and needed surgical removal. I hope this is not the case for you but worth pushing your GP to follow up. 🤍

I was bleeding for 2-3 months after a miscarriage and I had retained tissue, it's not normal to bleed for that long.

What did your doctor say at your 6 week followup? I’m surprised that they wouldn’t have raised a concern that you were still bleeding at that point.

my 6 week check was pretty poor I'm afraid to say. They didn't seem to know what to ask and I didn't know what to expect. I'll be calling the GP this week to speak to a different doctor but I'm in a small village and they were the only female GP so I'm not holding out a lot of hope...

I’ve been having lochia discharge still and what looks like bright red sediment coming out still. And I am 9.5 weeks postpartum. My husband is worried about me seeing as I healed up by 6 weeks during my first pregnancy. This is all weird to me and I’m very uncomfortable. It feels as if I’m cramping daily and my lower back hurts. But when I called the OBGYN office, they said it’s all normal…

I bled for a while too but that’s because right as the bleeding from birth finally started to taper off my period decided to start 🤦‍♀️

I'm sorry to hear you're in discomfort too!! That is truly rubbish if you're feeling unwell with it too!! I hope you start to feel better soon 💕

I suspected that might be it but the pill hasn't made an impact so now I'm very confused!! Thank you for replying x

Something that can be frustrating is that it will take your body roughly 18 months to recover from having your little one but that also includes your hormones. I hope you are able to find some answers and that you can enjoy your days without all that bleeding very soon 😊

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
