NHS prescriptions

You get the form from your midwife - I had it given to me in the folder my midwife gave me, then I filled it in and handed it to my GP.

That said some peoples midwives fill them in and submit them for people, so I’d give your midwife a call to see what their process is in your area :)

That seems really unreasonable of the pharmacy. I have a certificate but whenever I go to pick things up it’s pretty obvious I’m exempt and they never ask for it! 😆

You get them from the midwife once you are 20 weeks

You can get it from your midwife or the GP can also actually issue them (although most try and shaft that now!)

it’s not unreasonable if it hasn’t been registered that someone is entitled to an FW8 exemption via the nhsbsa by a medical professional then fines will be issued as it’s linked to the patients NHS number and will flag up on the national system

I’m 29 weeks so I will definitely chase it up!

Also I didn’t have my exemption approved the first time I needed a prescription, but I was able to take the receipt and my exemption back a couple of weeks later when I had it and they issued me a refund :)

I got my exemption certificate at my midwife booking appointment. The MATB1 is given from 20 weeks x

Should be able to get it from your midwife. The pharmacist should have given you a form to be able to claim the money back.
