Hi ladies,
I’m 35 weeks 6 days today.
Been for growth scan ( Monday ) due to my bmi being higher.
They said at the scan and antenatal visit that babies tummy is larger compared to his body. Also been told I may have to be induced at 39 weeks because of this and baby boy already being at 7 pounds in weight. ( big baby ) - they don’t want him struggling to come out etc.
Should I be concerned about his tummy ? And what could it mean by his tummy being on larger size ?
Ps, They want me to be induced at 39 weeks to reduce the risk of having to having a c section, which I am okay with.
Also had my glucose test done and all came negative. All urine tests are all clear at every midwives and hospital appointment. Don’t have any diabetes.

I pray you and baby will have a safe delivery. 🙏
Thank you

My babies tummy was measuring big at all our growth scans and although he was a big baby (9lbs 7) his tummy was in proportion with the rest of his body- I took their measurements with a pinch of salt all the way through pregnancy.
I was also told I might of needed an induction at 39 weeks to reduce the risk of having a C section but ended up going into labour two weeks ago at 38 weeks and having an emergency C Section anyway after labouring for 26 hours.
