Fall at 36 weeks

It does take a lot of force to disrupt your placenta, I'd worry more about placenta if you hit your back or belly. If babies movements are fine it usually a good sign that baby is still getting everything it should be from the placenta so that indicates that it's working as it should be. Usually but not all the time if there is placental abruption you'll have mild spotting all the way up to heavy bleeding. Only time a fall like that would be a problem is if you are rhesus negative. I am the most clumsy person ever I've smacked my belly into things smacked my back, fallen over, fallen into shower and my baby has been fine and no problems with the placenta. Things happen don't feel guilty just keep an eye out but if they aren't concerned then try not to worry as well xx

I fell over at 31 weeks onto my full front, knees hands belly and face 😂

Firstly I called triage and told them I was coming up to be checked 👀😂 I got there and the nurse was lovely and said baby will have a lot of padding around her to keep her safe and they weren’t concerned about it at all… baby checked out fine on all the observations.

Once all that was done and I knew she was ok it hit me that actually I’m not alright and had badly injured my knee and cut my lip open 😂 I think I was more concerned about the baby for the first 2 hours that it didn’t even occur to me how bad I was…. Went straight to A&E from Mat ward for x-rays 🤦‍♀️ try not to worry too much, I’m pretty sure placenta abruption comes with pain too but you can always call and ask them to check you just in case.
