Can partners stay with you in hospital?

There aloud to stay with you ward hours unless you are on labour ward and in establish labour. I think that’s the same with most trusts :)

Mine stayed until I sent him home as it was obvious nothing was happening quickly and I figured we could always call him and wake him up….. he was better to me with a proper sleep in him compared to trying to half sleep on a chair!

I was allowed my partner throughout my hospital stay as he was my primary birth partner. My mum was listed as my second and she could only stay on the delivery ward and recovery ward afterwards otherwise she could only visit during the hospital hours x

this is exactly what i have said to him, if nothing is happening quickly then its better for him to go home, attend to the dogs and get a good nights sleep, one of us has to 😂 but as we live 40 minutes from the hospital he is worried that if something happens he won’t be able to get there in time 🙃

ok that’s interesting, my partner is down as my primary birth partner too so it may be he is allowed with me at all times

hopefully so! My other half didn’t leave my side the whole time I was in hospital. I honestly wouldn’t have liked to be alone irregardless, he’s a great comfort and it’s someone to talk to!

I think it generally depends on your hospitals policies as some only allow during certain times or established labour. My hospital, he’s allowed to stay the whole time

I was induced on Monday but the chair in my bay wasn’t suitable for sleeping on so my husband went home. On the labour ward they had chairs that recline into beds for partners

Before 4cm my partner was only allowed with me during ward hours (9am-10pm) then after 4cm he was allowed in the birthing suite till id given birth, then back to ward hours the same day I gave birth

Yes, mine stayed with me for the whole 4 days/nights. The hospital just don’t ‘feed’ them. X
