Iron Tablets

Not after transfusion but I ended up forgetting to take mine for a couple of weeks as I take mine in the evening as they suppress my appetite so I take before bed usually but I was crashing on settee for couple hours and kept forgetting I can say I saw a noticeable difference from not having them.

@Lauren how long were on them for?
I had to start mine on the 24th of July and have to take them into September not sure when exactly

I’ve been on them since about 16weeks lo is 5weeks was told I’d need to take them for at least 3months after to ensure my iron stores stay up. I have been on and off iron and folate for years tho pregnancy just dropped them to an all time low 🙈

My lo is 5 weeks Friday. How's it going?

I had alot of blood loss and so got given iron tablets. I noticed my LO was getting poorly and the only change was the iron tablets so I stopped taking them. LO got better. Mentioned to my midwife and turns out pharmacy had wrongly labeled and I was taking 3 x the amount! She advised I need to restart but way less and every other day to make sure LO doesn't get sick again. Having a blood test today to check levels to see if I need to keep taking or can stop.
