Swimming lessons for 7month old

Is this a leisure centre or water babies (or equivalent)? If it’s not your local leisure centre I would have a look there first. At the leisure centre I go to it’s hard to get in if you don’t go from the start.

It’s at a local swimming bath, like water babies but just 1 company based there. They do have 3 spaces for the September start for 0-1years old so no issue in booking on at the minute.. however the older age groups are booked up😅X

We go to weekly lessons (term time only) and have been for a couple of months. It's been hugely beneficial for us. My little boy happily goes under water, has water over his head etc and I'm learning the best ways to make him a confident swimmer as well. If I was going to an open pool there's no way we'd be doing as much as we are now! I'd be too scared to put him under the water on my own for sure 😂 so for us, the money is worth it! We've just passed level 1 babies swimming, he got a certificate and badge, which is super cute!

My local leisure centre is £30 a month. It’s not in mainland UK though so unsure if it’s more just because of the area you are from.

It has given me confidence taking my children swimming.

I’ve been going to weekly swimming lessons (Swimbies). It’s a social activity with songs, dancing, time to meet other babies etc so it is worth doing the class just for that imo, my baby loves it! In terms of the lessons itself they were definitely helpful and there’s no way I would have had the confidence to do some things like dunk my baby without them. I would say it’s worth doing a month of lessons just to get a sense of what they are and what they do, then you could quit and do it on your own if you wanted as they do start to get repetitive

We've just had our first lesson at our local leisure centre, £27 a month. Definitely worth it as there are activities I wouldn't even think of doing with him in the water. We're doing the lessons and then taking what we've learnt to open play as well

We’ve been going to weekly lessons since he was about 10 weeks old, with Turtletots. For us, the lessons are definitely better than just popping to the pool. As above, skills are being taught, but there’s songs, games, the social aspect of other babies and other mums etc.
It is expensive, but I also see it differently to the other clubs he does for fun, they’re all ones I’m willing to stop and start as his interests and abilities change, but both of my boys will continue with lessons at least until they’re able to swim independently.
