Cold baby

Is she complaining? If not she is probably fine

That sounds like quite a lot of layers. Where on them are you checking their temperature? Hands and feet are always cold on newborns, so ideally you want to be checking their chest or back or the neck.

Health visitor told me to never go off her hands and feet they might always be cold always put your hand on her chest to feel if she’s warm or not. My room is 22 at the moment and mine is only in a vest and baby grow and he’s absolutely fine

Yeah when I check her temp it’s only 36.2 and her chest feels cold. It’s like she’s really struggling with the change in temp when it was nice and warm last week she was fine and sleeping through the night but these past few nights we have been up most hours and she’s cold xx

My LG feels cold to the touch often, but my HV reminded me, they will fuss if cold & also, if you touch your own skin that's on display, it'll often be cold, whereas you'll feel fine.

My room can be anywhere from 22-32 . In the hot days it’s 32 and she just wears a nappy and she was fine in the night without any blankets too as she would kick them off. The lower end she’s wearing vest, sleepsuit and got a thin sheet and then a fluffy blanket and she can wake up in the night crying because she’s kicked them off and she’s cold so I put them over her again and she goes back to sleep, if she wears a short sleeved sleepsuit her arms her cold

that’s almost perfect, body temperature wise x

@mish yeah I just worry because when we was in hospital with her because she was born early she kept dropping temp and they said to us the perfect boy temp for a baby is 36.4 to 36.7 . She’s definitely a cold baby she seems to always feel cold bless her

I think they do for the first few days and maybe longer with early babies, that why they have the heating on even in the summer and put hats on them all. If you are worried at all, maybe contact your health visitor for peace of mind x

I’d take baby temperature and then you’ll know if they’re actually cold, their hands and feet can be cold even when they aren’t x

the same happened to me, my boys temperature kept dropping and it was 36.4 and the doctor said he was hypothermic 🙄🤔 so I had him in a long sleeve vest, sleep suit, cardigan, blankets - the lot 🤣 that only lasted a week or so and then he was fine and was much warmer xx
