My son was a “mummy’s boy” but as I got pregnant he started spending more time with his dad. Mainly because I couldn’t lift him anymore and felt in pain etc.
Now I’m recovering from c-section and look after a lot his little sister, we spend even less time together and he definitely prefers his dad over me. I’m scared we are growing apart. Every time I don’t feed his sister I try to spend time with him but it seems it’s not enough. It hurts me so much when ge refuses hugs from me :(
I’m hoping that I recover soon and I’ll be able to spend some alone time with him but now it’s really tricky.
Has anyone experienced the same? Of has any tips?

I’ve just been through this with my LG. I couldn’t lift her towards end of pregnancy then was in and out of hospital with my LB as he had sepsis and was in NICU. My LB is almost 5mo and my LG has only just let me put her to bed with no screaming for daddy. She would cry for hours asking for daddy when he wasn’t here. I just explained that mummy gets sad when you don’t let me put you to bed, it makes mummy happy when I can put you to bed and she finally let me. We made sure my partner did his share of feeds, however did cause a lot of jealously to start with but we just kept explaining it’s daddy turn for a cuddle and to feed LB. Asked if she wanted to help and get her involved. X

that made me so much better! Thanks! ☺️how long before you started picking your toddler up and before things improved? X

It will be well soon 💕
Also look at it this way
Imagine how hard it would have been if your son still preferred you when you were unwell and in pain
That’s my son for me
Even when I’m really really unwell and trying to rest he will still bang on my door or expect to be picked up by me or just bang on sit on me when there is so much space on the couch
And I’m not flattered
I’m just like can you leave me alone for 1 minute !
