Just wanted to put it out there and take any ideas on board....
I'm really struggling with keeping my levels down in fasting, am currently on 4 tablets if Metformin a day... Midwife wants to put me on insulin...
I'm really struggling with the thought of birth! Not sure whether to go for an induction or c section. The thought of the drip (oxytocin) scares the crap out of me! But the thought of trying a natural birth sounds wonderful!
Only thing putting me off a c section is the recovery.

I think it will depend on your growth scans, with my first I was told I had to have a section due to size - I had GD… second I attempted a natural birth (no GD) which ended in emergency c section and I think I was lucky as he was larger than my first! Third was elective section and so will this one.. if you have the option of having a vaginal birth I would go for it, when I was induced with my second they offered me the epidural before they started the drip - I declined and then regretted it within an hour 😂

I would have the epidural for sure if I had the drip... Just the thought of the drip scares the crap out of me

We're opting for a c section because his head is in the 99th %, and the heightened risk of him getting stuck. I'm opting for the control of the situation a c section allows. For my situation I know there's a higher risk of a hard labor stressing the baby and my body out, as well as a higher risk of needing an emergency c section so we decided to eliminate the risk of a really hard labor. It's scary to chose surgery and a longer recovery for me, but I feel like it's best for my baby in my situation.
Trust your gut and know that you're making the best decisions you can for your baby and yourself. 💕

Thank you both for your stories
I really struggle to know what is right for me... Gut I think tells me c section but my heart and head tells me to try and do vaginal birth

If you can have a vaginal birth, have an epidural and do it.
I went all the way, pushed and had attempted forceps but ended up in an emergency c-section.
I’m 3 weeks post op and it’s so bloody difficult. I can’t walk far, I can’t drive, I can’t do small jobs… I’ve only just been able to lay flat. The pain is unreal… it’s yet another thing to ‘look after’.
Unless you have constant help, then don’t opt for one.

How was the epidural? Were you induced with drip?

I wasn’t induced. The epidural wasn’t as bad as I thought. I was dead against it but after 26 hours in the worst pain imaginable, I wish I had it sooner. I didn’t feel a thing… the not being able to move wasn’t pleasant though.
