Curly hair

I don’t use oil on my baby’s hair but I use argan oil on mine. She gets the Shea Moisture leave-in after a bath and I comb the leave-in through. She has fine curls so I don’t want to weigh her hair down. My hair is coarse and thick so I need a lot more product.

Only comb her hair wet. If it’s dry then it will frizz. Let it air dry or use a hairdryer with a diffuser attachment. Don’t shampoo too often because the alcohol in it dries it out. Curls are very dry so hair and scalp can dry out, oils daily or every other day are goo especially before bed. If her hair is fine and curly it might not need as much oil as corse and curly is. I’m mixed and it was always hard to find products growing up that wasn’t too much alcohol for straight hair or too heavy for black hair. Play around with products till you find something. Leave in conditioners and cowash instead of shampoo will be your best friends. Best advice is go on YouTube and look up curly hair or mixed hair routines. When she is older she can go to a black or Dominican salon and get tips from a hairstylist on a good routine for her, And remember curl patterns change over the years. Your doing great asking questions, i wish my mom did when i was younger lol, would have saved my scalp.

My baby is Biracial with curly hair. I use a cold pressed jojoba oil and coconut oil in my little one’s hair. Jojoba oil is supposed to be the closest to our natural oil. My cousins children are Black and Japanese whom also have curly hair and she uses a “soufflé” or a hair product from Lush.
