BCG vaccine
My baby is having her BCG vaccine next week. I am just worried she will be only one month old and what should I do if she has a fever after the vaccine. Checked with midwife and she mentioned Calpol is advised from two months.
Has anyone’s baby got the vaccine and how are the symptoms after it. Any advice to comfort the little one after the vaccine will be very helpful. First time mom and this is her first vaccine so I might just be overthinking.

My eldest daughter didn’t get the vaccine until till over 1. She did get a slight fever afterwards. Sorry not any more help x
My baby had hers when she was 3 weeks. Should not get fever. If the baby is warm and is unwell it should be for other reasons we were told. My baby was fine. It’s the scab part we need to look out for which they will explain. Baby will be fine. Don’t worry
6 years ago my daughter got her BCG vaccine at one month old and I kept her cool by leaving her in a short sleeve vest or just her nappy. And gave her a cool bath to bring down her temperature. You can also use a lukewarm flannel throughout the day and night to keep your baby cool. My son is now 6 weeks old and still hasn't been offered the BCG so I guess every doctor's is different

The bcg vaccine was given to my LO at 3 or 4 weeks - the vaccine should not cause any fever or anything :)
BCG vaccine should be given around 28 days but is very uncommon in the uk and not part of normal vaccination routine due to it being very low risk here. It is only given if traveling to a country with higher risk, family from higher risk area or family member with it. I guess also if you request it? I only know it's not part of immunisation under the nhs

My LG had hers at 3 weeks the HV did say this vaccine shouldn’t give them a fever and she was completely fine, she didn’t even cry when they administered it. She cried when they woke her up and took of her sleep suit, she had no fever also
