11 months old and introducing to regular milk?

Hello mommas! So I need to know how I can start off my baby getting introduced to whole milk ? I'm scared to cut him off of formula and give him whole milk. So how do I do this? Any suggestions.

Wait, even if it seems like its not a big deal. You’re supposed to go all the way up to 1yr. I did this with my oldest son, i have 4 kids. But you are momma so you know what is best for baby.

Example this is what I did with my daughter and your doctor will tell you this my daughter was drinking 8 ounces when she i transitioned her I put 1/8 whole milk 7/8 formula for the first day then the second day I did 2/8 whole milk 6/8 formula 3rd day 3/8 whole milk 5/8 formula and so on and she transitioned smoothly

you have to wait untill 12 months due to their kidneys not being able to digest it. It can cause internal bleeding. If your baby is a premie talk to your child's doctor. But do not do it before the full 12 months

source? I’ve heard this about water but never about whole milk, that seems off I’m sure his pediatrician would’ve mentioned this when I said I let my baby try cows milk 👀

I have an 11 month old, he turns one this month. I started him on whole milk last week. He loves it. I didnt wean him off formula. We just stopped drinking it. But dince his formula was a meal in some cases, now I give him oatmeal with a bottle of milk and use the milk as a beverage more than his main source of nutrition. His pediatrician recommended this as well, bc she said weaning off may make him not like the texture/taste difference. I will say give milk in moderation, like everything. Dont give too much. Maybe 16 oz of milk a day. Speak to your pediatrician though to see what works best for your baby. Mine had no issues transitioning.

We did a month long transition with our first kid starting at 11 months and we’ll do the same with this baby. Our pediatrician ok’d this:
Week one - 4oz BM/formula and 2 oz whole milk
Week 2 - 3oz and 3 oz
Week 3 - 2oz and 4oz
Week 4 - full cows milk.

@Shannon when I look it up online that's what it says under the cdc if you do it before 12 months. Maybe 11 months is okay or maybe depends on the child like if they are on solids u know. I'm not sure about premises thought because it didn't say that.

oh okay that makes sense, I’m sure this applies mostly to younger babies but our ped did say to wait just because the proteins are harder to digest but wasn’t too concerned. My baby weaned early ~10.5 months and she didn’t suggest I use formula because he eats tons of solids. Good to know though! Thanks for sending that.

I talked to my dr and she said I could start at 11 months because my daughter has eaten food since 4.5 months and loves cheese and other milk products without a problem. I was going to start by replacing 2 oz with milk and 6 oz of formula to make 8 oz bottle. If she doesn't react well we will stop and try again at 12 months

My Dr said to wait till 1,my mom said do it now... my baby started refusing her bottles during the day so I am offering her 1oz of whole organic milk during lunch and I'm adding 1oz of milk to her morning bottle. So far so good.... she turned 11 months on 3rd

Don’t cut off now of course but you can give like a little bit at breakfast to introduce them but you don’t switch it fully. My daughter can’t do regular milk but I gave her some oat milk the other day and my older son started having regular milk around 10 months at breakfast and just a little bit

The four month regression is so hard …

For the last three weeks my baby girl who was now 14 weeks has only an hour wake window. She needs rocking to sleep for daytime nap which takes anything from 10 to 20 minutes. Then she only sleeps for 30 minutes at a time she’s crying all day because she’s tired. The only time she’s not crying is at night time when she’s getting a decent sleep She cries so much it’s hard to take her anywhere and I haven’t wanted to take her anywhere because she can’t sleep without it being in the car or the pram but there’s times so she’s just so constant. I’m not even dressed to take her out anywhere. It’s been hard the last couple of weeks and it’s been worse than the newborn stage because she hasn’t settled even with being cuddled and held …taking her into her garden has worked a few times …I hope this phase changes as it’s so challenging had a bit of a cry today …

How often is your baby waking up in the night?

My baby is 5 months old and waking up every 3 hours. Some nights he could do a 4 hour stretch and some he would do just 2. It’s a bit all over the place to be honest. Is it normal for so many wake ups at this age? What is everyone else’s baby doing?

Autism

I have been noticing everyone I know that as a boy 2-5 years has been diagnosed with autism. Has anyone else noticed this or maybe I’m just noticing this out of concern for my 10 month old boy.

How do you cosleep?

I know all about sleep safe 7, the dangers of cosleeping etc etc, but there seems to be a huge difference between online and people I meet in real life. Most people I know report cosleeping, but online its villainised more.
No judgement here - I'm just genuinely curious what people are actually doing!

Comments if its something different.

Our baby has her own cot. She sleeps well in it until early morning and then only sleeps if shes on/next to me. I'll also admit to having fallen asleep breastfeeding several times (no lectures, she's safe - but other people have said they've done the same).

Swing or bassinet

We've been co-sleeping/bed-sharing with our one month old (5 weeks tomorrow) since she and I came home from the hospital. While I love the cuddles I do want our bed back too. I will add too, that we try to make it as safe as possible and want her in a safe situation. She doesn't like sleeping by herself, however we've been putting her in her swing (pic below) close to daily, since she came home and at first she only liked it for a few minutes, now it could be an hour, before she protests, asleep or awake! She likes the music and rocking motion it seems and seems fascinated by the mobile when she's awake and not sleepy. We can probably get her used to the bassinet in a similar way, but I'm wondering if we should just get two of these? My husband says the music would drive him crazy, lol, but we could just do it with white noise and see if it has the same effect. He's saying it's probably good for her to learn how to sleep in different conditions. I do agree, as our older daughter can't take naps at friends' houses and stuff. Just not sure of the best route here. Anyway tia!

Cry

Hey! I just need some advice, please.

My nearly 6 week old girl is so unsettled. She eats well and naps well, however when she’s awake she’s fine for about 5 minutes and then starts crying. I settle her, but 5 minutes later it happens again. This goes on until her next feed.

I’m convinced she hates me 😓 What am I doing wrong?

I change her nappies (sometimes too often 😁) I feed her (Kendamil formula 4oz around every 2-3 hrs) and I always make sure she burps. We go for walks, I play with her, and I let her sit in her bouncer. I’ve literally tried everything but she still seems so unsettled after just 5 minutes 😢😢
