Telling people in work

Thanks for that Kelsey! As I’m new I don’t know them that well yet but there is a couple I get on with well already I could tell just to have that extra support etc. Hope everything has gone well with your appointments 💕

I told my manager 2 days ago so I was about 5w4d

Also side note my manager is on annual leave until tomorrow haha! But that’s for the reassurance ladies it’s helped 💕

I’m a mental health nurse and work in a hospital. My work is very busy and can be high risk at times as I work in a secure hospital. I told my manager straight away when I was about 3 weeks. I’m nearly 6 weeks now and I’ve only told one or two people on the ward that I trust completely but mainly just to make them aware so that I’m not in any risky situations with patients. I’ve got an early scan booked for when I’ll be 7 + 2, I will tell the rest of the staff then. I think it’s just whatever is right for you and what you feel comfortable.l with. Personally, i wouldn’t of told anybody in work till I was 12 weeks but they need to know because I work in such a high risk area x

Have you stepped back from activities? I work in a school but occasionally need to physically handle/restrain. I am really nervous doing damage!

When I fell pregnant with my first, I was 3 months into a new job and my manager was literally the 2nd person (after my partner) I told 😂 It was for the best because I struggled quite a bit in the first trimester and everyone was super understanding!

This time around, I literally just started a big new project with a new team (just mt luck...) so will probably tell them quite soon as well!

Yes I’ve stepped back, this is why I have told one or two people as we need to restrain quite often. These staff that know will obviously take over this and know why I’m not getting involved. Over the next 2 weeks I will tell one or two more people just to take more of that burden off me. I just didn’t want to tell everybody I work with just yet as that’s about 30 people across all shifts. It just felt like too many people this early x

I started my job in July, and fell pregnant less than a month later. My boss was one of the first people who found out for mine and my baby's safety and cause I will be going to the EPU etc x
