Sadly, I think my very short breastfeeding journey is about to end. My milk supply isn’t enough to keep him going (he was 11lbs 11oz at birth) even combined with formula.
The issue I’m facing now is that as we’re feeding on demand, we’re using the tommee tippee prep machine quite a lot for feeds but the minimum you can make is 4oz, he drinks about 2oz at most in one feed. Can you refrigerate half of the bottle when made using the prep machine as it’s hot shot rather than using kettle?
Thanks!

You cook try and keep it warm, but formula must be used with 2 hours I believe

Maybe as a temporary measure pre-made bottles from the shot might be a better option, as they are usually very small

Our little one is 4 weeks and still only taking 2/3oz a time. It really doesn't take long to use the kettle and at nighttime we are using the flask method (one flask of boiling water, one flask of cooled boiled water. Mix formula with 1/3 hot, top up with 2/3 cold). That way we can easily make even 1oz if a little top up feed is needed!
It's such a shame throwing out wasted milk. I'd give the method above a try for a couple days and see how you feel, it really isn't as long winded as some people make out, then when baby is consistently taking 4oz you can revert to the prep machine ☺️

🤦♀️

it feels like it takes a lifetime using the kettle when you have a baby hungry for their milk🤣😜

using flasks is easier than using the kettle cause you don't have to wait for it to boil 🙈 with the flasks, I literally prep and make the bottle in under a minute, easy. Super speed 😂😂

how long does it stay hot in the flask for? And do you use any flask or is there a specific one? X
