Got made redundant

I got made redundant at the beginning of my maternity leave, as well as the rest of the team at work. But now I can see they’re doing an event (which they get sponsors for but is still a financial risk) and are releasing a new website for their parent brand.

We all got made redundant due to financial issues. The accountants didn’t balance the books properly and missed a lot of money.

I know they have to have done everything possible to keep me on legally as I’m on maternity leave. But the fact they’re doing all this now makes me suspicious as he wasn’t sure on either of those projects while I was employed.

They were always really good employers, I didn’t think they’d do anything bad etc. But now I’m suspicious.

Since this, my maternity pay has also been messed up. The accountants supposedly changed my tax code, but no change can be seen. And I’m being taxed what I was when on full pay, so I’m struggling to get by.

Any ideas what to do? Tried reaching out to tax people but getting through on phones is impossible so had to send a letter
