2 weeks PP

Hey, I had my baby 21st August via emergency c-section, the baby blues hit me hard the last two weeks. Does anyone feel the same ? It would be nice to hear from some mamas who are in the same boat.

I really don’t feel like baby blues is an adequate description. I’m nearly 3 weeks pp and I’m still a bit up and down and it’s very dependent on how much sleep we are able to get.
I didn’t have a c section but did have a traumatic birth and nothing about looking after a newborn whilst recovering is easy.
People keep telling me so I’ll tell you, it does get easier and you’re doing amazing. And it is really hard but it’s not forever.

8 days pp and the last couple of days I just keep bursting into tears for absolutely no reason! I've been googling and apparently it's totally normal for this stage due to changing hormones but it's certainly hard, I've never been like this before.

I'm 2 weeks post emergency c section. Have been miserable; anxious, low, panicky etc. The sleep deprivation and the hormone dip are insane. You are not alone and you are not abnormal xxx

It will get better, had my LO on 10 Aug... I was a wreck for the first 10days as I was bed bound.

I promise, the more you heal, the more you regain mobility... you'll feel a little bit better. Hang in there and TAKE YOUR PAIN KILLERS 😀

I agree baby blues is not an adequate description, I agree but feel like last night I had the most sleep and even managed a nap and still struggled today when baby was non stop crying. This is very true, I know it will get easier I just don’t want to wish the time away it makes me feel super guilty for not ‘enjoying every moment’. It’s just nice to talk to people that understand, thank you for your comment 🩷

it is completely normal, my health visitor came and made me feel so much better about the ‘baby blues’ You are not alone either and if you ever need anyone to talk to I’m here for you, you have got this 🩷

thank you so much. I know it will get better it’s just a fight if not wishing the time away as the past two weeks have flown by and I feel guilty for even wanting things to get easier because that means he won’t be a newborn anymore, it’s such a struggle! I’m glad you are feeling better 🩷

@Chantelle take each day as it comes. Give your best every day, but also remember that your best will be different on each day.

If you need to cry, cry... talk to your partner about how you are feeling. I think it's not easy being a first-time mom as everything is new to you.

I cried a lot during the first 10 days... as soon as I focused on the love I felt in my heart towards my daughter and husband, it made things much easier. Also, I allowed myself to accept that life won't be the same as before, and the only way is 'up' from here.

I promise, things will get better.

I’m 3 weeks in. Had a c-section too (although not emergency). Hope you’re recovering well.
Definitely feeling the ups and downs. Bursting with love for my little one but very easily tearful and I worry I’m not doing a good job. It’s certainly an emotional roller coaster - especially with the lack of sleep. We will get through it 🙏

I’m nearly 5 weeks pp with an emergency c section and I can honestly say it’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to recover from. I’m still not 100% but I know that it can’t be any worse than those first couple of weeks. It does get better and recovery from major surgery whilst looking after a newborn is hard! You’re doing amazing and you should be proud of yourself! Xx

Hi babes, I am now 5 weeks PP and during my first week I felt SO awful. I was crying and anxious everyday and I was so scared it wouldn’t pass. I also felt so guilty for not being happy and felt mentally drained. Then one day I woke up and felt completely different, if you can try and get some sleep if you have help with baby that makes a big difference. Also guided meditations for post partum really helped me I did one everyday. It does pass and talking about your feelings will make it feel less isolating. This is a big thing and we need to give ourselves some credit for getting through it all!! ❤️❤️
