Milestones

Hi! My son came at 34 weeks and spent 5 days in the nicu! We went to our one month appt and one of the questions was does he make eye contact with you or recognize you and I don’t think he does. He looks to the side a lot and all around but I don’t feel he looks at my eyes. He was born 8/5, due date supposed to be 9/14. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks!

My son was born 33 + 6, a lot of times when he was young, probably up until he was 3/4 months he was meeting milestones at his actual due date age, now he’s almost 9 months and still a tiny bit behind his actual age, but I don’t see it as too crazy of an issue!!

so my son can 8/5 and his due date was 9/14. Would you say it makes sense the eye contact may not be there yet? He has met other stuff like hands to mouth ..etc

oh for sure! I think if your doctor isn’t concerned, and your babe is making other milestones, it could just be timing!

thanks for the reassurance! I’ll bring it up at his 2 month appt on 10/7
