Tommee tippee bottles

Has anyone used the self sterilising bottles from tommee tippee and had a similar issue? I bought some for my baby’s hospital stay as I thought it’ll be easier to sterilise but i am not sure I’m doing it right? I followed the instruction so put 50ml of water and microwave on full power for 3mins. It sounds like the bottle is about to explode in the microwave and the lid always flies off. Also, even now they’ve cooled down, the bottom is more rounded up and they no longer stand up without toppling over! Am I doing it wrong?

Are these the advanced colic self steralising bottles?

Sounds like they're damaged/melted now if they've changed shape 😭

that’s what I am worried about but I literally followed the instructions! 😭

I’ve not had this issue but if you’re looking for an alternative I can’t recommend the tommee tippee natural start glass bottles enough! They sterilise great (bit hot to take out though) and they don’t go cloudy ever. Might be worth a try if your little one already likes the tommee tippee bottles🍼

ohhhh. I have the EXACT same bottles for my mums. I have a microwave steam steraliser that steams the bottles for 7 minutes. I haven't had this problem yet but i've only steralised them once because my baby isnt here yet. I put much more water in than 50mls. Maybe put more water in your steraliser?

i sterilised them using the method on the back of the box where you pour some water into the actual bottle itself and microwave it, not in a steriliser! I have a UV one at home but currently in hosp with bubba so wanted a quick solution but it’s not worked out too well for me hahah! X

I have these bottles and the same thing happened to me when I had accidentally screwed the lid on properly to sterilise. Could this be the problem?
I just balance the lid on the bottle and add the cap loosely and I’ve not had any more issues!x

I think the same as Katie, don’t screw the lid on, just put it on.
Mine was exploding as well if screwed on.

hahah that’s exactly what I did! Assumed you need to screw the lid on 🤦🏻‍♀️ thank you xx

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
