Waited until umbilical cord fell off completely before doing full bath submerged in water. Before that was just doing wiped downs.
Once the rest of their umbilical cord stump falls off and u see that it’s healed!! You’re safe to submerge baby into the water to bathe
@emily you def we’re not supposed to do that… you’re not supposed to get the umbilical cord wet… when that falls off is when the baths start
@emily they bathe my girl a day after birth, full bath with a shampoo included🤣 I thought it was ok too once we got home, so you aren’t alone😅
@Jaymie They did that to my baby, too!! Didn't even ask me, just took her. I was soooo mad!!!
Omg if they had tried with my son I would have been livid. Babies are born in a coating called vernix which is basically an eternal immune system until they get a bath. That being said my baby boy got wiped down once every other day until his cord stub fell off (and healed cause ours came off early) now we do a bath about 3 days. We started first bath was in the sink but now I just get in the bath with him. Run it about up to my hips with water and I hold him an we play for about 20mins before I was his wholeeeee backside like head to feet and then drain our enough water to lay him down. If u have help let daddy get him out while u get cleaned off an get out. If not get u a swaddle towel and take the stroller in bathroom/ a floor mat lay baby to dry finish up so u can dry off! I’ve helped bathe now 5 kids from that newborn age in my opinion this is the best and safest way! Or at least it has been for us!
I bathed my baby on 3rd or 4th week. Her umbilical cord didn’t fall off completely and had some bleeding. She was shredding like crazy during that time
@emily facts
As soon as that umbilical cord came off
uh 4 days old? was i not supposed to do that? 🥲
