37 weeks tomorrow! My doctor has always just been in and out, has never really communicated anything with me. Well, yesterday I go in and the nurse said “oh I think your Dr is going to do a cervical check today” and I’m like whatever, it’s my first pregnancy and I have no idea what’s going on. So my Dr comes in and ends up doing a membrane sweep WITHOUT letting me know literally anything, just did it and left. I was traumatized and never would have consented to that! I bled and cried. Well, today I SWITCHED DRS AND HOSPITALS. Am I being overly sensitive?

Nope. There is either poor communication between nurse and doc or between nurse and patient there. Doing a cervical check can maybe risk a bit of a membrane sweep but not a full one. Did they say anything to you before doing the exam?

the dr said NOTHING! he has barely said anything to me the entire pregnancy! Just hi/bye

I switched doctors at 30 weeks! You have to do what makes you most comfortable, if that was your instinct then I think it was right.
