Tonies questions

Is it worth it? How many tonies do you actually need? Is one enough? How often does your child listens to it?

Following because I would love to know this too! I don’t know if my little girl would just keep changing them over getting bored of one quickly 😂

Both my kids have one (4&2) they both love it. They both fall asleep listening to a story of their choice. They had white noise machines when they were babies and this has been a lovely transition for them. They also have loads of tonies and enjoy listening to different ones in the day as well as at bed time. I would definitely recommend it if your little one likes stories!
(We read them a story at bedtime then put a tonies on after so it doesnt replace their bedtime story) X

my son loves books but mainly he points out things in them and says their name so we don’t really do proper story readings lately.

So each tony is a story? How many do you need to have?

We use ours everyday since last Christmas my son loves dancing to the musical ones during the day and always picks a story one after I’ve read a bedtime story. We’ve got about 25 we got a lot gifted last Christmas and his 2nd birthday he uses the majority of them. Can’t wait to get a Christmas carol one this year!

they're stories or musical really. My kids have Moana and encanto and love dancing around to them, they also have the majority of the Julia Donaldson stories! They probably have about 20 between them, if not more, but you could just get a couple to start with. They are great as a gift and you can also get bundles when you buy then tonies box so you could get about 4/5 then x

We have one for our 2 1/2 year old, and our youngest is about to turn 1 in 2 weeks time, and he's getting one too. We personally really like it.

A tonie box isn't to replace reading a story to them. My eldest LOVES books, and like yours, loves to talk about it and point things out. We use the tonie box during the day, where he can independently pick a story or pick one with music on. And after bedtime stories he picks 1 to listen to overnight. We have quite a few now as we've had it nearly a year. Our eldest does use them to role play but they are pretty durable, I just teach him what he can/can't do with them (like when he bangs them on a table the paint can rub off a little)

For us, a tonie box is bright and colourful, it gives them independence picking when they want to listen to something, turn it up/down, change it etc

You can go on the tonie website and listen to samples. Most have stories and a little song. Some are just songs.

You can also get creative ones, We have read stories to our son on one. We have his favourite music on another. Then on one we have uploaded an audio CD that tonies don't do yet

If your thinking of getting one for Christmas definitely wait for Black Friday last year they did really deals on bundles x

We love ours, she has 6 altogether but mostly likes the same 1 or 2. We have sleepy songs too that can put on at nighttime. She really loves it and it’s part of our routine x

how many tonies do you think you need?

how many do you think you need?

@Sara erm I guess that depends on your little one. Of all the ones we have, my eldest adores thomas, percy, gruffolo, gruffolos child, zog and one of the creative ones we made. But like today he randomly put his paddington on.

I guess if they like a particular story or tv programme- start with that one and a couple more and see how you go. We brought 5 when we first got our tonie, as we got the white noise one and sheep lullaby one for bed, then a few stories for the day x

ho doesn’t watch TV but I’ll see what stories they have. Is it one story per Tony?

@Sara depends on the tonie. Most have one story, but potentially different chapters. But you need to look them up. For example stick man is 12 minutes long and only has stick man. But snail and the whale has snail and the whale story and song and smartest giant in town story and song. Paddington is like 2 hours long with different chapters, where as others are about 30 minutes or an hour long. Again look on their website, click on the tonie and it'll show a sample plus what's actually on it. We have a red riding hood one which has red riding hood, gingerbread man, and jack and the beanstalk - so that one has a few. They have a pinocchio one too but we don't have it so not sure what's on it. There's loads of books made into tonies too, like the dinosaur that pooped, julia donaldson, Mr men series, rohl dohl. My son hadn't watched peppa pig before, but they have a learn with peppa tonie which I thought would help and he likes it :)
