Nicknames could be Wilf/Wil/Freddie
My husband loves it and it was his grandads name, I like it too but I'm just not 100% sure on if it's "the one".

Love it. Old school but quirky.
Like it. It's my husband's middle name so is our son's middle name too. But I don't know if I would have it as a first name. Not for any other reason than I don't love it enough for a first name, but it's a lovely name.
Having a family link is lovely too.

If you love it then go for it but if there is something else that you both love more then add it as a middle name. When he is older if he wanted to go by Wil/ wilf then that up to him as it's still part of his name.
