What is the father’s financial responsibility?
Hi. Sadly my partner has basically up and left me and his son. He is video calling every day to see our son but when I have mentioned that I might lose the house that our son has lived in all his life he doesn’t care. He has so far sent £10 over and that’s all and has argued that he doesn’t have to help me only our son when I’m not working and he’s off doing whatever he wants. I just don’t know what to do he is a good dad but he has just ruined any respect I had for him.

Well keeping a roof over his son’s head is helping his son! I would go through CSA.

CMS! The cheeky sod!
Not necessarily, you only have to pay cms (24% of the money) if you both choose to use the collect and pay or the father hasn't been paying the cms calculated maintenance so they force him to! I use CMS and so far don't pay anything!
CMS isn't a lot though, but it is something, unfortunately he is only legally entitled to pay what they say nothing else, morally is another matter. Sorry lovely this is such a hard time and so fresh. I hope you get some stability soon.
Self employed and CMS is horrendous but CMS and employed is ok.
They have a online calculator and gave give you an approximate of what he should pay based on salary and nights, BUT if you play the CMS card suddenly expect him to demand equal parenting to avoid paying. You can say NO too young but don't block access either.

If he’s not working it’s probably about £10 a month on cms
£10 he pays to her. If he’s just on benefits and has no income. There is no charge if he sends the money to her bank direct only if you use their service for them to take the money and pay the mum
£10 all together. He does work but is refusing to help gotten a family mediator now as I’m just getting upset each time I try and get things sorted
