Bed wetting

Hi, the past couple weeks my 5 year old has been refusing to sleep until about midnight and when she is asleep she keeps wetting the bed very night! I have stopped her having drinks an hour before bed and makes sure she uses the toilet before getting into bed but I’m lost on what to do! Any advice would be great

TIA

How long has she been dry at night for prior to this?

Have you had a new baby or anything changed in her environment? Moved house, relationship split up, death of a loved one etc?

What is she doing when she’s trying to stay up until midnight?

Since she was 2.5 she was dry at night!
No baby, she’s an only child . Nothing has changed as far as I can think of, me and her father aren’t together but we broke up when she was 1 so that’s nothing new
She will just lay in bed shouting that she’s not going to sleep or sit talking to herself. I’ve tried laying/sitting with her to calm her down but then she messes around and if I leave her she just screams at me and tells me it’s unkind! I’m lost on ideas

How is she at school? Is she on half term next week as be interesting to see if that makes a difference.
The advice given to me was to avoid milk and blackcurrant and increase fluids in the day. I don’t think they make referrals until age 7 but could ask the school nurse if it continues.

Has she just started reception this Sept or did she go into year 1?

Have you asked her if something has happened at school?

Have you asked her teacher how she is in class? Does she have friends or is she mainly alone?

At school she’s doing well the teacher said she has no issues with her. She’s in reception, she’s friends with children she went to nursery with plus a few more from her class .
She said she enjoys school, I just hope something changes soon!
I’ve tried talking to a local health visitor but she was useless🤦🏻‍♀️

How much is she drinking during the day at school?

You could try limiting drinks to solely water with her dinner and give her a measured out amount of say 200ml and increase the time from 1 hour to 2 hours before bed no liquids.

What’s her routine when she comes home from school? Is she sufficiently stimulated at school? My daughter is also 5 and started reception this year and when she comes home she is knackered lol

Something has happened to make her want to stay up late and also wet the bed. You just need to be persistent in letting you know you are a safe space for her to tell you anything.

She has a bottle of water at school, a cup of milk in the morning and a cup with her lunch.

Oh that’s a good idea I will try that thank you!

Get home, read her books and do the homework then have a snack and she plays before tea , then tea normally a walk after tea bath and bed .
She said school is boring and she’s not doing much there but not sure if that’s just something she says?

She just wants to constantly play it’s like she’s never tired! I keep telling her she can tell me everything even if it’s a secret and that she’s safe with me and I will always look after her! I’m just really struggling, she finds wetting the bed funny

Injury at school

My poor boy got injured at school today. Face first on concrete. School handled it well. One of the staff went to the ER with him until we got there. Has a huge knot on his forehead and face swollen and scratched and bloody. Poor boy

Leaky nappy advice

We use mamia nappies and have had no issue until now. We are using size 3 but she is leaking through them every night as she sleeps through the night. We’ve tried 4+ for night but they are still too big. Does anyone have any advice or any other brand that might hold more in a size 3?

Ms Rachel ??

How many of you are putting ms Rachel on??? I’ve just introduced it to my 8 month old and it’s like sorcery. I feel so guilty putting it on because LO don’t take his eyes off the screen, but it’s the only way I’m getting 20/30 minutes during Velcro baby stage. I’ll put it on twice a day for up to 30 mins at a time, the rest of the time we’re out the house, playing with toys or he’s with me doing jobs around the house. Should I even feel guilty?😩

Circumcision question

So my son got circumcised before leaving the hospital he’s 3 days old and they told me the day after leaving to take it off which is today and just add a lot of Vaseline to the area to help it and when we took him to his pediatrician he told us to just keep adding Vaseline on top of the gauze and it’ll fall off on its own but now I’m worried that it’ll get stuck to his skin if it sits to long. What do you feel I should do

Thoughts on this pram?

I’m 18 weeks pregnant and thinking of prams to get my baby. I saw this on Amazon and it seems affordable, plus the reviews are very positive about the quality of the product. Are there any mamas in the group that got this specific model? If so, how did you find it?

TBH

To be honest- I’m starting to hate that my husband gets to sleep peacefully , getting virtually uninterrupted sleep, while I’m being woken up every other moment by our 5 month old 🙃 I’m so so tired, my body hurts, and I have a little cold that won’t go away. My baby sleeps next to me and feeds on demand (it’s my fault, I know). I tried to regulate him without the boob, tonight, and he started crying. My husband tried to soothe him for less than a minute, but I took him back when I saw my husband was getting irritated by him crying. I ended up feeding him until he was mostly asleep, now he’s sleeping on my chest. I’m awake, I have to use the bathroom, and forgot to take my contacts out, and put nursing pads in, but I’m stuck. Meanwhile, my husband went back to sleep immediately 😮‍💨😤 how do people do this long term? 😩
