Constipated baby

Hey, anyone else’s baby is struggling with constipation? My month old baby only does it every 4-5 days. I’ve changed formulas, been giving her some gas drops but still doesn’t get better x

Have you tried using comfort (constipation and colic relief) formula? I think all the main brands do it , I've tried the cow and gate one and seemed to help my baby xx

Also walking him out and about in the buggy seems to help , I've heard some people say baby swings help xx

My 8 weeks old only goes once a week sometimes more! He’s breastfed. The Dr has just prescribed him lactulose at his 8 week check. Does she seem content in herself or does she seem in pain?

she’s not in pain, she’s feeding normally etc but when it gets to day 5 she’s a bit stressed out

My baby was the same but he’s nearly 7 weeks now and he poos everyday. I did end up giving him lactulose in the end as he was really uncomfortable and sad so i asked the doctor and they said it was okay. That seemed to start him off and then he’s been going ever since. Every babies different though. Some things that did help was a warm bath every night, dentinox in every other bottle (if you breastfeed you can give it her straight from the syringe) and having time in his bouncer or in the car helped too. Try having her upright over your shoulder or on her side across your body and tapping her bum. Sometimes helps my boy pass wind then poos from there. 🫶🏻🫶🏻

My health visitor said it’s very normal once they get older to Poo less and can go up to ten days without pooping

she’s been pooping like this since she was a week old

My girl has been the same since she was about a week old. I’ve spoken to health visitor and midwife about it and they said that as long as she’s not screaming in pain, going over 5 days without one and not being sick lots then it can be normal with babies regardless of how they are fed (mine is formula fed) because it can take them a while to get used to using the muscles to actually go poop. I’ve found that giving the formula you can buy in the pre made bottles once or twice a day helps her go as they have laxative in them! If it gets to day 4 and she still hasn’t pooped, I give her a warm bath and do a tummy massage after and then give her a pre made bottle and that tends to do the trick!

My little boy was exactly the same. The GP were unhelpful and said he will grow out of it, but he absolutely did! By day 4, he became uncomfortable to the point where he would cry whilst straining. He would either poo that day or the next. All of a sudden coming up to 3 months old, he’s been going everyday. Sometimes twice and if he doesn’t go one day, he will make up for it the next.

I was so frustrated with the GP but they were bang on! I never wanted to give him laxatives as I didn’t want his body to rely on it. I did one less scoop in his feeds (max twice a day) on the days where he was severely uncomfortable. He never liked the boiled water in between feeds. I hope this helps- I feel you! X

yesss exactly, I took her to the GP and they said the exact same thing. I tried giving her one less scoop in her feeds too but it didn’t work. I give her infacol and gas drops but doesn’t help aswell. Oh well I guess her body is just used like this then.

If she’s had her physical checks and is showing no other issues then hopefully you’ll have the same outcome. It really used to bring me down seeing him so upset but it genuinely happened overnight and he’s so happy now! Their bodies just need to get a little stronger and mature. Good luck 🤍

Ms Rachel ??

How many of you are putting ms Rachel on??? I’ve just introduced it to my 8 month old and it’s like sorcery. I feel so guilty putting it on because LO don’t take his eyes off the screen, but it’s the only way I’m getting 20/30 minutes during Velcro baby stage. I’ll put it on twice a day for up to 30 mins at a time, the rest of the time we’re out the house, playing with toys or he’s with me doing jobs around the house. Should I even feel guilty?😩

Thoughts on this pram?

I’m 18 weeks pregnant and thinking of prams to get my baby. I saw this on Amazon and it seems affordable, plus the reviews are very positive about the quality of the product. Are there any mamas in the group that got this specific model? If so, how did you find it?

Moving while asleep

My 12 week old has been sleeping through the night (8 hours) for the last week and a half and since the 3rd or 4th night he's been wriggling his way to the other end of his crib to the point where his head is cocked to the side
He seems fine but it looks uncomfortable and ive always been told he needs to have his feet touching the bottom of his bed and if I move him back he wakes up.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did you leave it? Are there any potential issues if I do leave it?

5 am wake up🫩🥱

My 3 year old … lately has been waking at 5am 😭
I’m exhausted!

He winds down half an hour before bed - we get ready for bed, each of us read a book each, kisses and cuddles, a drink of water and up to bed. He goes down easy, I sit for 2 minutes literally and he’ll self sooth himself to sleep by 7:30pm he’s out! But the past 3 days he’s been waking and coming into my bed at 5am … me thinking he’ll go sleep he’ll just toss and turn and wants to go down…

Anyone in the same boat?
